Spoon Design

Another quick video with a few ideas about spoon design, having watched it I feel I should have done some preparation for it, but the main idea was to give a good 3D view of a couple of my spoons which is much better than just a photo, even better is to have a real solid 3D spoon in your hands! And what better place to get your hands on some beautiful spoons than Spoonfest?

  1. Nice spoons and video, inspiring to a new start like me. I burnt out the bowls on my first two spoons and have now got a crook knife and have made two more.

  2. Nice video. We often don't here this kind of self critique. I am really concentrating on the part of the spoon where the handle meets the bowl. This area I find hard to carve and make look nice as the grain is going different directions. There is opportunity for decoration in this area. Love the talk of shape and curve. Inspirational.

  6. Barn, it's great to see these spoons twirled, I agree that it's much easier to see what's going on. These videos are great, keep up the good work!
